Mick Greenwood
Accredited London Tour Guide
My name is Mick Greenwood and I like to take my guests back in time.
But I don't actually have a time machine, like Doctor Who's TARDIS or Doc Brown's De Lorean sports car.

What I do have, though, is my extensive knowledge of all things London and it's colourful history. I am a black cab taxi driver by trade and a born and bred Londoner, always fascinated by the history of my hometown, and ended up studying the History of London at the University of Westminster, becoming a Certified City of Westminster Guide.

When I became a taxi driver back in 2006, after studying the Knowledge of London (the unique three-year course that all licensed London cab drivers have to complete knowing every road in the city!), I often found myself telling stories to my passengers about my beloved city as we passed its many landmarks, even if they only wanted a short cab ride to work in the morning. So I decided to become a qualified tour guide, and now I combine the two professions to give my guests a unique perspective on London.
There’s another string to my bow, however.

I’m also a musician, and have played all over the UK and Europe - from the small pubs and clubs of London right up to the biggest arenas. I’ve also played at the world’s biggest music festival at Glastonbury many, many times. I’ve even played in front of a certain member of the British Royal Family - twice!
In that time, I’ve collected many first-hand stories about the rock stars that have lived in London over the years, and so I offer tours about my city’s rich musical heritage. So, if you want to know more about the history of The Beatles in London, or the Rolling Stones or The Who, the Pistols or The Clash, Hendrix or Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Elton John or George Michael - I’m your man!
I look forward to seeing you soon!
